Paul gives us very good advice about the genealogy of Jesus:
I Timothy1:4 4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
Don't speak of genealogy when trying to prove Jesus - that's just going to get you into trouble.
I used to think that the long, boring lists of names in the Bible were just completely pointless and nothing to go over. But actually, once I started studying the lists and why they were even there, it became one of the most important and interesting subjects to go over!
It's not boring at all once you realize how important these names really are. And, what's more, they are used to not only solidify the information concerning the messiah, but it completely shatters the foundations of Christianity - something that every Jew interested in foiling missionaries and increasing their shields of defense for themselves and their loved ones should take to heart and head.

General Genealogy
Let's begin with some simple information regarding the genealogies.
There are 2 genealogies that Christians have to try and prove that, through his genealogy, Jesus is the messiah. Christians are making that the claim that, through his genealogy, Jesus is the messiah. Where are these genealogies? They can be found in Matthew and Luke.
It's very easy to remember which genealogy is of who: the longer name goes with the longer name, so Matthew is the genealogy of Joseph. Luke and Mary both have 4 letters, so it's easy to remember Luke is the genealogy of Mary. The longer names go together and the shorter names go together. Easy to remember, right?
- Matthew is of Joseph
- Luke is of Mary
Now remember this: The Church has to say that the 2 genealogies, found in Matthew and Luke, must be of 2 different people. Why? Because in Matthew's genealogy the father of Joseph is Jacob, and in Luke's genealogy the father of Joseph is Heli. This is why they have to say that the genealogies are of two different people - Joseph has two different fathers.
Luke 1:27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin's name was Mary.So this statement that the genealogies are of 2 different people was simply created by the Church and millions of people believe it, even though Luke says otherwise. Let's also remember that the followers of all Christian denominations accept this even though it was the Catholic Church who made this idea - the same Church so many of those same Christians scorn and despise.
Now that we know a little about the 2 genealogies, let's learn some more. It's important to know where the messiah comes from. That is, from who and where must the messiah be descended?
We know that the messiah must come from the tribe of Judah, and the house of David. But David had many sons, and the messiah can't just come through any son. He has to come through a specific son. So which son must the messiah come through? That would be Solomon.
How do we know this? Actually the Bible is very clear on this and there are many sources. One specific source (for the Tribe of Judah) would be found in Genesis 49:10:
10. The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the student of the law from between his feet, until Shiloh comes, and to him will be a gathering of peoples. And here (for the son to be Solomon) found in I Chronicles 22: 9-10:
9. Behold a son will be born to you; he will be a man of peace, and I shall give him peace from all his enemies around about, for Solomon will be his name, and I shall give peace and quiet to Israel in his days.
10. He shall build a House in My Name, and he shall be to Me as a son, and I to him as a Father, and I shall prepare the throne of his kingdom forever.'In fact there are so many sources about where the messiah must come from (and what he must do and be, etc.) and I know it's a subject of great interest so I'll link a few great sites with very basic, simple, and clear info. about the messiah:
How do we know what tribe you are from? If the messiah is supposed to be from the tribe of Judah, how do we know, exactly, what tribe you are from?
The book of Numbers opens with a military census (which is how it got it's name) and states that tribe identification comes through the fathers line - it is of patrilineal descent.
Numbers 1:2 2. Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by families following their fathers' houses; a head count of every male according to the number of their names.Virgin Birth
I have to say something here: I've been playing with you. I'm sorry! I didn't mean to take you through all of that grueling detail for nothing. I have to tell you something now. Wasn't Jesus born of a virgin? According to both Judaism and Christianity, Jesus didn't have a human Jewish father with which to trace his lineage back to King David!
So it's pretty simple - Christianity just under-minded itself! Jesus was born of a virgin! If Jesus was indeed born of a virgin, then there is no possible way at all that Jesus could even stand a chance of being the messiah. He doesn't have the genetic seed to trace himself back through the messianic line.
What's the Christian response? He was adopted.
Adopted?
Let me ask: who exactly put him up for adoption?
Further, if that really is the Christians final answer, they just destroyed themselves once more. The Bible clearly states that it is from the seed of David from which the messiah must come. The seed. Which means normal sexual relations must take place to give birth to the messiah:
II Samuel 7 12. When your days are finished and you shall lie with your forefathers, then I will raise up your seed that shall proceed from your body after you, and I will establish his kingdom. Also, if you're going to take up 2 pages of the Bible for this genealogy, then go and say that Joseph is not actually the biological father of Jesus, why is Matthew's genealogy even here? No matter what response is given, why is Matthew's genealogy here at all?
Let's also take the time to consider this point: if Jesus really came from the line of Joseph, and is G-d, then Christians must admit and believe that G-d has a grandfather. King David is the grand father of G-d. Does that make any sense to anyone?

Matthew's Genealogy
Let's get into the meat of the conversation. It's time to dig deep and see just what exactly is going on here. Why the fuss? Why was it so important for Paul to advise the leaders of the Christian faith to stay away from genealogy? Good advice, after all, as we will see shortly.
Let's start with Matthew.
Matthew 1:17 is very specific to say that in each segment there are 14 generations each. But why is 14 so important? The Talmud tells us that 14 means Kingship - a very important number. Matthew didn't just want these names to be a random assortment of people - there was a meaning behind the numbers and the quote below shows us:

17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
- Abraham -> David :14
- David -> Babylonian Exile :14
- Babylonian Exile -> : JC :14
Let's take a closer look and compare with the genealogy found in I Chronicles 3: 4-19. Remember, the "Old Testament" must be the word of G-d. Christianity cannot be true and Judaism false, remember that. Judaism can be true and Christianity false, but Judaism can never be false and Christianity true.
Do you see the right side of the photo? That's the list of names from Matthew. On the left side is the genealogy from I Chronicles - that genealogy would be our "control group" (the one that has to be right). If you look down the list you will see 3 names scratched out. Let me ask you something: do you know what an eraser is? Because Matthew sure did. Do you know how badly Matthew wanted those numbers!? All he did was simply take an eraser and remove 3 people from the list! That's all he did! Just erase them! Who cares!? Who needs them!?
Are you kidding me?
Those three people are Ahaziah, Joash, and Amaziah - these 3 people exist! No problem -just erase them.
What's the Christian response? He was eliminating the evil people.
Really? Look at Manasseh! He was a very evil king and he's on the list! Further, you can't just erase people from a list of historical names because they were sweet or angry, or because there favorite color was blue and not red.
How do you play with the word of G-d? How do you really do such a thing and just pray to G-d no one notices? And you expect me to join to such a group? Can I really invest my soul in something like this?

Luke's genealogy
Let's move over to Luke for a moment.
Do you remember above that Luke's genealogy is of Mary? According to the Church (recalling that the Bible says otherwise), Luke's genealogy is of Mary. If that were true, then, how come Mary isn't in the list once? I mean if this is the genealogy of Mary shouldn't that person be included in the list? Further, if it's the line of the mother, where are all the daughters?
Don't forget also that tribe identification comes through the father. So, if Luke's genealogy is of Mary, then this genealogy is completely worthless - it has no relevance what. so. ever.

| Luke 3: 23-38 |
Who is number 2? Nathan. WRONG. SON. Even if this were indeed the genealogy of Joseph, Jesus then cannot possibly be the messiah because he comes from the wrong son.
*whew* Take a deep breath. Let's go back to Matthew.
Matthew's Genealogy Revisited
Remember how concerned Matthew was with getting the number 14? Well what's 14 times 3? 42. Let's look at the photo again of Matthew's genealogy. If we count the names just as they are, we'll find something most peculiar - there are only 41 names! 41? Wait, what exactly is going on here? Why are there only 41 people in this genealogy?
Prepare yourself for a bomb.
Prepare yourself for a bomb.
Recall from the beginning that the messiah must come from a very specific line. That line is the Tribe of Judah, House of David, and the son Solomon. Have to do this to you, there's more.
You see, there was a curse placed upon a certain evil king. This king was so evil that never again would a son of his sit on the throne. The prophet Jeremiah tells us that no son of Jeconiah (shortened to Conia) would be king again:
You see, there was a curse placed upon a certain evil king. This king was so evil that never again would a son of his sit on the throne. The prophet Jeremiah tells us that no son of Jeconiah (shortened to Conia) would be king again:
Jeremiah 22: 28-30 30. So said the Lord: Inscribe this man childless, a man who will not prosper in his days, for no man of his seed shall prosper, sitting on the throne of David or ruling anymore in Judah.Let me repeat: this king was so evil that never again would any son of his rule over the Jews as king. This means that the messiah must also not come from the cursed line. So what happened? Well, let's look at the photo above. Do you see the last name in the second column? It says who? Jeconiah.
Jeconiah!?
Why is Jeconiah sitting there in Matthew's genealogy if he's the cursed king!?
(Hope you prepared yourself.)
Need more proof? Jeconiah's son is Shealtil, he should have been the next king. But guess what - he wasn't. Zedekiah was the next king after Jeconiah. Shealtil was a righteous man and so was made governor, but he never sat on the throne just as Jeremiah prophesied.
Are you dizzy yet? I hope not. We have one more little thing to point out.
Luke's Genealogy Revisited
Both Matthew and Luke knew to avoid the cursed king. Matthew's tactic was to simply take him out of the genealogy. But he made a mistake and took out the wrong guy. What did Luke do, though? What was Luke's attempt at covering up his tracks? Let's look once more at his timeline just for a moment.

He replaces Jeconiah with Neir! Who in the world is Neir!? No one knows! He's near, he's far...who is this guy!?
That's it! That's the whole thing right there! The most simple idea in the world - just lie! Erase the cursed king, replace him with someone else entirely and oila! No problem!
___________________________________________________________________________
